Overview

Responsible for safety training, metrics, and performance in all areas of the company. This will include the support of leadmen, foremen, and managers as they actively manage our safety culture ensuring Safety First as a top priority. The management of these areas will result in safety performance equal to best in class for our industry.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementation of a comprehensive safety and health management plan to ensure a safe and healthy working environment exists at all MacAllister locations.
  • Provides technical expertise for accident investigation, incident prevention, workers compensation reporting and other support necessary for engaging the workforce in a safety first culture.
  • Is responsible for all safety compliance issues such as but not limited to DOT, MSHA, OSHA etc.
  • Publishes safety metrics in a routine and comprehensive manner and follows up with each location to ensure annual safety goals are achieved and/or exceeded.
  • Accepts ownership for safety performance at MacAllister
  • Understands branch travel and presence to be a vital part of the job
  • Manages Worker’s Compensation program and related issues
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in safety management and 7 or more years of experience in safety management and implementation
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization to meet safety goals
  • Ability to train, teach, mentor, coach, and hold people accountable for safety behaviors
  • Expert understanding of safety compliance issues for industry
  • Must be willing to spend significant time in branches
  • Sound knowledge of first aid techniques
  • Must have a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering sustainable results.
  • Must have a strong initiative and the ability to establish goals and accomplish them in alignment with overall company objectives.
  • The ability to uphold professionalism and ethical behavior with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance and friendly, courteous treatment of peers, subordinates and customers.
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to operate industry specific programs and Microsoft Word and Excel.
