This position is responsible for processing and administering the warranty claims from manufacturers.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review warranty work orders, generate warranty claims, and update appropriate warranty tracking systems (60%)
  • Process warranty claims and settlements (15%)
  • Partner with the accounting department to verify the accuracy and balance of warranty statements (10%)
  • Partner with appropriate departments to notify or obtain missing information for warranty claims (5%)
  • Research and validate warranty information to ensure accuracy (5%)
  • Prepare and track parts return requests (5%)


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No formal responsibility for supervising others



Position Requirements



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year or more of experience working in an equipment dealership environment



  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field (Marketing, Finance, Business Management, etc.)
  • 5 or more years of experience working in an equipment dealership environment

  • Ability to respond to and handle confidential business and personal information/documents
  • Proficient computer and data entry skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn MacAllister/Michigan Cat systems
  • Excellent data management and analytical skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented, strong multitasking abilities, and self-motivated
  • Excellent problem solving skills; is able to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to build and maintain effective customer and professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship building and consistent demonstration of solid professional judgment
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), and proven problem solving skills demonstrating the ability to think innovatively
