  • Overview

    The person in this role will complete a 1-2 year training program and will be exposed to virtually all aspects of our Rental Services Business with the goal of learning all aspects of the position.  The training process will provide exposure to a variety of MacAllister Rentals operations, process and project in preparation for a role of increased responsibility. 


    • Assist in setting the pace for the sales force, and assisting the branch manager in setting mutually agreed yearly goals and working toward achieving them.
    • Leading the staff to make decisions to improve workplace, company, marketplace and customer satisfaction
    • Assist in managing the fleet, shop operations, trucking and administrative areas
    • Works with branch manager to keep branch profitable
    • Makes sure equipment is available and delivered on time
    • Keeps track of pickups to insure that no pickup is left too long
    • Runs reports daily/weekly (open tub, slow rent, yard inventory)
    • Other related duties and projects assigned by management
    • Assist in management of branch level safety program in all areas to ensure all policies and procedures are enforced with responsibility for all results. This includes:
    • Adhering to all safety rules for policies and enforcement of theses
    • Keep shop and equipment staging area clean and free of clutter
    • Maintain all hazardous material law II series procedures
    • Ensure that overhead cranes, floor jacks, compressor, welding carts, fire extinguishers, etc. are inspected and documented
    • Enforce all personal protective equipment rules and regulations
    • Ensure all safety rules and policies are enforced
    • Have a weekly tool box safety meeting and document it with a copy given to manager daily.


    • Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a Bachelors degree in business or marketing or typical related experience.
    • Broad Rental background 3 - 5 years of experience in various phases of the Rental business such as shop floor control, counter sales, external sales, management, etc.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with machines. Knowledge of Heavy and Allied equipment required.
    • Excellent overall managerial skills in the areas of communication, organization, judgment, team-building, interpersonal skills and problem solving.
    • Practices a win-win approach to satisfying both parties involved in any activity.
    • Ability to operate a computer and necessary programs such as Microsoft Office products and database systems
    • Professional in appearance, demeanor, thoroughness, accuracy, polish, integrity, effectiveness. Performs at high standards.
