  • Overview

    This position is responsible for the leadership and strategical efforts of the product support sales representatives (PSSR) and customer support representatives (CSR) in Indiana to provide a smooth, efficient and profitable process of activities engaged in selling parts and labor to achieve profitable growth and market share.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Hire, train, mentor and develop a team of representatives to provide excellent customer service and be great team players.
    • Develop and implement strategies and processes to facilitate accurate POPS metrics
    • Achieve profitable growth targets by identifying existing market share, growth opportunities and development of specific strategies by customer
    • Evaluate and develop team skills necessary to fulfill MacAllister’s Product Support vision of unequaled customer solutions; providing lowest owned and operated (O&O) cost; and earning customer trust, by building expertise in:
      • Life cycle planning
      • Component planning
      • Maintenance strategies
      • Unplanned repair strategies
      • Information / data strategies (technology)
    • Maintain strong knowledge on price/value relationship for parts and service labor to ensure relationship is aligned and leveraged throughout the company
    • Facilitate growth for our Equipment Management strategy by achieving goals for machine connectivity, condition monitoring contracts, preventive maintenance growth, SOS growth, and total maintenance and repair growth, including solution packages at point of sale
    • Develop strong partnerships and synergy with Heavy Equipment Machine Sales, Equipment Management Services, and Product Support Operations
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Caterpillar and other key outside alliance partners that accelerate our goals and objectives

     

    Occasional Responsibilities:

    • Partners with senior management to develop efforts to improve fleet management offerings and opportunities
    • Partners with Caterpillar’s marketing department to develop effective marketing programs to ensure share and profit targets are achieved

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the execution and interpretation of policies and for the successful operation of assigned units. Has authority for hiring and disciplining employees. May be responsible for directing the work of first-line supervisors.

    Qualifications

    Position Requirements

     

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in business related field (Business Management, Finance, Marketing, etc.)
    • 8 years or more of experience in sales and customer service, selling parts and service (Product Support)
    • 3 years or more of leadership experience

     

    Preferred:

    • 5 years or more of management experience
    • 5 years or more of experience developing and implementing marketing plans
    • Previous experience in a Product Support function of CAT products

    • Ability to work independently without the need for daily direct supervision and a strong sense of urgency.
    • Strong computer skills and ability to utilize Caterpillar programs, ET, ECA, VisionLink, Predictor, Sales Link, Outlook, Excel, and Builder/Calculator.
